KTX

My First KTX Adventure to Gyeongju

I was overflowing with excitement for my trip to Gyeongju, thanks to my handsome sponsor oppa who made my very first KTX experience possible. Since it was my first time riding the bullet train, I decided to wake up extra early so I could explore both the old and new Seoul Station before my departure.

Instead of taking the subway like I normally would, which would have taken only 26 minutes from my home, I hopped on a bus so I could enjoy the morning scenery. But of course… I ended up getting lost. I jumped off the bus too early, totally my fault, but I was just too excited. It was drizzling, the air was freezing, yet somehow the cool morning breeze felt refreshing as I walked around trying to find my way.

When I finally arrived at the station, I had to look for my platform since my ticket was already pre-booked. I got a little scared because I crossed the yellow safety line while taking photos, and an officer immediately warned me, haha. That was enough to make me step back and go look for breakfast instead.

Seoul Station was packed, with long lines everywhere, cafés, convenience stores, and restaurants. So I ended up grabbing a quick meal at McDonald’s before heading back to my platform. Oppa kept reminding me, “Don’t oversleep on the train!”

Well… I tried.
I was actually working on payroll for the ESL department while admiring the peaceful countryside outside the window. And yes, I completely missed my stop and ended up in Ulsan instead of Gyeongju. Thankfully, I got my ticket rebooked for free, and my ever-patient superman oppa drove all the way from Gyeongju to Ulsan just to fetch me. It was really my fault, but we just laughed about it.

Despite the chaos, my KTX ride was smooth, comfortable, and so much fun. I even met two friendly travelers from Taiwan and had a great conversation with them. Honestly, the KTX is a must-try when you’re heading to Busan or anywhere down south. It’s fast, convenient, and surprisingly affordable.

Enjoy the photos, everyone!

And stay tuned for my next photo blog. More adventures coming soon!
