삼겹살과 소맥

A Simple Night That Felt Just Right

It was one of those cold evenings when your body just wants warmth and your heart wants something familiar. After a long day at work, We found ourself craving a full, satisfying meal. Nothing special or fancy. Just something real. So we walked to a small traditional samgyeopsal place just behind my house. It’s the kind of spot where the tables are a little worn, the grill is always hot, and the neighbors greet each other like old friends.

The moment we sat down and heard the sizzle of the pork belly on the grill, I felt my whole mood relax. There is something comforting about that sound. We cooked each piece slowly, letting the edges crisp just right. Wrapped in fresh lettuce with a little ssamjang, each bite tasted warm and familiar. It felt like home.

Since it was Friday, we decided to have some so-maek. A little celebration after a long week. Not loud or flashy. Just quietly happy. The kind of happiness that feels steady and calm.

After dinner, we walked to my favorite coffee vending machine. The one I always go to, sometimes even twice a day. There is something nostalgic about pressing a button and waiting for warm coffee to appear. I held the cup in my hands and felt the warmth slowly spread. It was simple, but it felt comforting.

Sometimes the best nights are the ones without big plans. No schedules. No performances. Just good food, familiar surroundings, and a moment of rest.

Samgyeopsal, somaek, and a cool vending machine coffee to end the night.

That was all I needed.
