My Timeless Escape

Since the 90s, I’ve been coming back to the enchanting Malapascua Island, often with my GGTC family from USC and my best friends. It has always been one of our favorite getaways, especially because my girls and I love traveling and discovering the hidden gems of Cebu.

Malapascua may be small, but it is world-famous for divers. It is one of the few places on earth where you can spot thresher sharks all year round, a true bucket-list experience for scuba lovers. Beyond the sharks, the island is surrounded by beautiful dive sites, vibrant corals, and colorful marine life that make snorkeling and island hopping an absolute joy.
For me, nothing beats the island life here. It is the perfect place to meet new friends, reflect in solitude, or even plan my next steps in life. I often find myself dreaming up new systems and working on my nomad side hustles while sipping a cold beer, reading my favorite ebooks, and soaking up the sun. And yes, I definitely miss my tan lines every time I leave.

What I love most about Malapascua is that it is not overly commercialized. Unlike other crowded islands, the resorts here are cozy and peaceful, giving you a true sense of escape. The slower pace allows you to really breathe, enjoy the turquoise waters, and reconnect with yourself.

Here are some of my latest photos from my trip. Let them remind you that when life feels overwhelming, sometimes all you need is the beach to free your mind. Malapascua is a must-visit if you’re looking for adventure, serenity, or simply a beautiful break from the noise of everyday life.

See you again, Malapascua Island.
