Tides at Shangri-La

A Buffet Experience Worth Trying

One of the more expensive buffets I’ve tried in Cebu is Tides at Shangri-La. My first visit was way back in 2023, during their Korean Food Festival. The spread was impressive, and I remember enjoying every bite. I gave that experience an 8 out of 10, solid, satisfying, but still with room to surprise me more.

Fast forward to 2025, I had the chance to dine there again, thanks to my Boss. The highlight of the night was their Japanese Food Festival, featuring an incredible variety of authentic Japanese dishes. I slowly worked my way through the selection, savoring each plate.

Surprisingly, the dish that truly won me over wasn’t Japanese at all. It was the Beef Stroganoff, so rich, flavorful, and comforting that I went back for seconds (and would have gone for thirds if I had the space!). For me, it stole the show.

Overall, I’d rate the Japanese selections a strong 9 out of 10, but the Beef Stroganoff deserves a perfect 10 out of 10. Dining at Tides is definitely a must-try experience in Cebu, though I’ll admit it’s on the pricey side. Still, the variety, quality, and culinary craftsmanship of the Shangri-La chefs make it worth the splurge.

I’d love to eat here again, and who knows what festival they’ll surprise me with next time.
