Must-Try Comfort Food in Myeongdong — Boiling Hot & Delicious at 보승회관 (Boseung Hoegwan)

📍 Myeongdong, Seoul, South Korea

While exploring the bustling streets of Myeongdong, I decided to warm up and satisfy my cravings for something hearty and traditional. I stumbled upon 보승회관f (Boseung Hoegwan) a well-known spot specializing in 순대국밥 (Sundae Gukbap), a rich and savory Korean blood sausage soup. And wow… this place did not disappoint!

As someone who genuinely enjoys liver, blood sausage, and other bold flavors, especially those similar to Filipino exotic dishes, this restaurant felt like a match made in foodie heaven. It was cold that day, and I needed something to warm me up. The 순대수육국밥 (Sundae Suyuk Gukbap) I ordered came out boiling hot, exactly how soup should be served!

What impressed me even more? The ordering system was efficient and high-tech. You simply place your order through a digital screen, and within minutes, your food arrives piping hot. The speed and service were top-notch.

The set included:

A big bowl of 순대국밥 filled with pork slices, sundae, and rich broth A platter of 수육 (boiled pork slices) and more 순대 (blood sausage) Generous side dishes like kimchi, cubed radish kimchi (kkakdugi), fresh chives, and vermicelli noodles

The flavor? Comforting, clean, and deep. The broth had just the right amount of earthiness and seasoning, and the side dishes perfectly complemented the main dish. Honestly, the serving size was big enough to share, but I finished everything myself.

Myeongdong may be known as a tourist hotspot, but this gem is something everyone should experience. Whether you’re a fan of offal or just want to try authentic Korean comfort food, 보승회관 deserves a spot on your itinerary.

Price: Very reasonable for the quality and amount of food served.

Pro tip: Come hungry, and come cold, this will warm your soul!
